Yeah, I had the feeling that I'd heard of somebody getting fired over something like this. I just didn't remember who or from where. That's not a good reason to be fired from somewhere, IMO.

I'd guess that it's more them covering their ass than actively trying to infringe on their employees' rights; if you come across some case studies of people they've fired because of this (more likely than we think, I'm sure) then I'll change my mind.
