Big Government : **BREAKING** ACORN Sues Hidden-Camera Filmmakers, Breitbart.com

Didn't news of Maryland's wiretap law get plastered all over Drudge Report where Breitbart was editor after Linda Tripp recorded her calls with Monica Lewinsky? Could it be that our biggovernment.com friends were quite aware of the wiretap laws in MD, DC, NY and CA going into this little adventure and were sort of hoping that a lawsuit would ensue?

Paragraph 7 of the ACORN complaint under the heading FACTS RELEVANT TO ALL CLAIMS, reads: "7. As one of its activites, ACORN does initial intake for people wth home ownership and mortgage problems are refers qualified applicants to ACORN Housing Inc., which helps homeowners in need of mortgage asistance." I'm sure a sharp lawyer can come up with a couple document requests along the lines of : "Provide all documents related ACORN's intake system, including but not limited to, employee training materials, guidelines, policies, manuals, intake system development, planning, and implementation materials and any an all records of any complaints filed, lodged or noticed by any person or entity regarding ACORN's intake system and all documents related to the investigation and resolution of those complaints." Then there could be a nice doc request/interrogatory on what assistance ACORN has provided to all those applicants.

http://republicanwhip.house.gov/blog : Office of the Republican Whip :: Stronger and Simpler Stimulus

What would Thomas Jefferson say about the current state of rampaging socialism and budding tyranny? This is what he said centuries ago, seems quite appropriate now... "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them. " "The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not. " "To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical. " "A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor and bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government." "It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world." "I own that I am not a friend to a very energetic government. It is always oppressive."

Quite telling. The proponents of the Pork-a-Palooza Stimulus have absolutely no idea as to how their spending will stimulate anything. Stand strong House GOP. Pay attention Senate GOP.

Add domestic energy production to the plan. Require fast-tracking of oil and gas leases (on and off shore) by regulatory agencies. Limit the ability of environmental groups to litigiously interfere with mining and drilling. If the government MUST spend money, let the government build nuclear power plants on government lands. We've been driving nuclear power plants on and under the oceans for 50 years so this shouldn't be a problem. The government ALREADY operates 3 nuclear powers plants through TVA. Clean coal NOW. Coal to liquid, scrubbers, processed coal, whatever. We have it, let's use it. In the mean time, start mining. If private industry can't pay for such plants, let the government build them and operate. The government can then generate some revenues by selling power to the grid. TVA already runs 11 coal fired plants. People want to through equate the Obama-Reid-Pelosi Pork-a-palooza to the New Deal. OK, look at the TVA, which seems to be a success.

Because "our" President is wrong on this one...that is why "not one republican" AND 11 DEMOCRATS in the House did not support it. CEO bonuses (and those of most other financial industry employees) are contractual obligations...do you propose that the government abolish the law of contract? Sounds like it. If you don't want to be "at will" negotiate yourself an employment contract. How can there be "tax relief for the unemployed"? THEY PAY NO TAXES. You are looking for welfare. You sound jealous of those who have maintained fiscal discipline in their own household. "Stabilizing house prices" is just as important to those of us who have not had to deal with foreclosure. If things are so hard for you try another career path, or another location.

Yes, It is about ME...and MY wife...and MY kids...and MY parents and in-laws and siblings and their families and neighbors and their families. It's about ME being able to keep MY OWN earnings to pay for the food and heat and fuel and school supplies and clothing and electricity and even satellite TV that MY family needs AND deserves.

Bravo. I sincerely hope that the House GOP caucus continues to show the strength and conviction to UNANIMOUSLY oppose the agenda being pushed by the Obama-Pelosi-Reid triumvarate. I also hope that the Senate GOP caucus is paying attention.
