This is not a $35 billion contract. This is a $200 billion contract that will last 20 to 30 years. In otherwords, severral generationsof workers will retire on this program.

The reason the contract has not been awarded is becasue the Airforce can not decide how to bid the contract. Since politicians are involved the decision becomes even more complex. The Boeing plane is a modified 767. The Airbus plane is a modified A330. Both have delivered their tanker to other countries.

The Airbus plane is bigger, which means it can do more things. Comes down to hardball politics. Are the jobs going to Alabama or are the jobs going to Washiington/Kansas?
