It's Joe Albertsons supermarket, but everything on this here shelf is mine......:)
kayaking at the end of summer is like sitting in the roller coaster after it stops.
Can you play 'Here comes the Bride' on a banjo?
Oh and BTW, They were racing so you can accuse Pete of being old but he didn't cause this. How utterly presumptuous to make that conclusion.
Yeah I got it wrong. The turn he made was from the east side of the road while going north, Pete was, indeed, heading to the cemetary. I was a$$backswards. The turn I thought he made was the one that we make all the time from 97 to the Wasco turnoff, starting from south bound. Also just found out there were 2 sports cars racing south bound. The first one, a white one, missed completely and the second one, the red one is the one that hit Pete. So lucky he didn't get hurt bad, and he was in the parade in Wasco that they have for memorial day every year. :)
Pretty hard to T-bone some one when the impact of the SUV is more so on the passenger side, admittedly it looks close to the front but from the passenger side to me. Take another look. Not being conclusive, just seeing the SUV differently than you. Again, I've made that turn right there well over a thousand times. For years, I used to work in Biggs and live in Wasco. It's my old route and Pete's made that turn 1000s of times judging when and where oncoming traffic was.
Sawtooth Road is an connector of Mud Hollow Road and Fulton Canyon Road, which is across Highway 97 from the turn out for Wasco. Sawtooth actually isn't in the area and Mud Hollow is about a quarter mile away from the turn out. The pictures show wreckage right in the middle of Highway 97 from a camera positioned north of the shot aiming south. You can see the turnout to Wasco in the back ground and the yellow lines on either side of a traffic divider that leads to a left turnout lane to head to Wasco. Both Mud Hollow and Sawtooth are actually located North of the location and therefore out of the picture, (behind the photographer.)
I grew up there, and no it's actually not. Theres a traffic divider there that allows for entry and exit to a side road into Wasco. It's probably where this happened. I witnessed a head on collision there about 10 years ago killing 3 people. I know Pete and his whole family. I grew up there. They all grew up there and Pete's probably made that turn 1000 times. I know I have. To everyone who thinks it's his age that's at fault, you should probably just not speculate at all rather than assume because many old people shouldn't be driving that that's the case here.
I know Pete and his family. I'm glad he's OK. I know his kids and many of his grandkids. He has a lot of people who are happy he's not hurt bad. Thank God.
