Ah "sex cases", the only instance where you don't really "pay your debt to society" with your prison sentence because it's only the beginning. After "doing the time" you are still under state control for possibly the rest of your life. Not even murderers get this type of punishment.
Well, if the Republicans would just allow for gay marriage to stay as it is right now and focus their attention to more pertinent issues no rally would be needed. Seems to me that no one other than gay couples has had their life change due to gays and lesbians being able to marry. So, let's focus on the economy and other pertinent issues and not go backwards on human rights.
Maybe you are the naive one in that you cannot understand mental disorders. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about what they think happened in this case. However, there are mental disorders where the person involved clearly has no idea or clue what they are doing. Many women who suffer postpartum depression can't recall the things they did during that time. Not saying Kehoe had this but it's just an example of one type of mental disorder where the person is not aware of what they are doing.
Thank you to the Gazette for allowing this man to tell his side of the story. People on these comment boards, and people in general, can be so harsh and critical without truly understanding what it is like in difficult situations. While I've never experienced the immense pain that this family must be going through, I do know what it's like to have something happen to you that completely changes your perspective on what you "would do" in a given situation. Until you are put through any situation you cannot accurately gauge how you would handle things. May God watch over this family and help them heal in the years ahead.

I don't know where I really stand on this issue because I believe that this animal is a danger to humans but I hate to see an animal killed so that someone can have a trophy. The thing I will say that I don't agree with is how the media outlets have glorified the story with the pictures and details put into the article. It seems like the "trophy" status is what is really taking over the storyline...
And the football team brings in plenty of money to Athletics to help pay for it...take a look at the numbers they will be bringing in from being in a BCS bowl alone.

Yeah, public urination can now be considered a "sex offense". This also includes streaking or mooning, which people used to do all the time in decades past. It has become ridiculous how many people get sex cases out of the things they do or "crimes" they partake in - it truly is out of control. I'm all for punishing those who actually maliciously rape another or rape/molest a child (and I don't consider a 14-15 year old a 'child') but we need to curtail who we are labeling a 'sex offender' at this point in time.
Actually as long as the girl is 16 she can consent to have sex with anyone because she is considered 'legal age of consent' in Iowa. The four year rule applies to 14 & 15 year olds. The problem really comes in when the 14 or 15 year old lies about her age, a sexual incident occurs, and the person who is older is unable to use 'defense of age' as a defense. Iowa has one of the longest prison sentences and subsequent sex offender punishments for this type of "crime" as in most states if the girl (and it usually is a girl) is 15 and the guy is 4+ years older the prison sentence given is usually 1 - 5 years, if they get any prison time at all.
