I would echo David's point about market determination. If your service is significantly better than existing offerings that already charge for service, than the market is already conditioned to pay and revenue is easier to build into the model. If however you have a very different, or disruptive service where an obvious demand is not previously established, sometimes the best way to condition the market and establish share is the free model.

My gut feel is that Ignighter is the latter and will need to condition demand before requiring direct use revenue. They are pretty smart guys as well though, so I wouldn't be surprised if they can figure something out pretty quickly to get some cash in their pockets.

Either way, I'm rooting for them.
