Let the Omar bashing begin. Even if he misses significant time, Escobar was still a nice risk/reward signing. Here's hoping this is a minor glich because his arm hasn't been used in a while.

I would sincerely hope that any player that was injured last year would be anxious to get on the field and start proving himself. My biggest concern is pitching, so I really want to see Santana, Niese and Maine pitching with no pain whatsoever. ...and maybe Ollie can fall down a well or something.

The statement that he's been a complete bust is what's weak. That's nonsense and you know it, unless your definition of 'bust' is completely screwed up.

Oh, Failcoeur, will you continue to be the 311/338/498 hitter you were for us after the trade, or will you revert back to 250/282/352 you were with ATL before the trade? Or how about the 239/294/359 you hit for ATL in 2008?

So there's a douche-bag rehab, now? Didn't know that. Thank you for teaching me this, Mr Phillips, and let's hope you get the help you need.

Oh, and it's not BB-Rod... it's Choke-Rod. Get it right, please. :p

What's wrong with Nieve on a minor league contract. I agree it probably won't be there when he gets back, but he was pitching well enough to give him another shot with a cheap minor league contract.

Parnell should in AAA working on his pitches and his location. He's only thrown 5 games in AAA, and I hate rushing guys. Give him some time.

I agree with your praise for Feliciano, but I really hate giving multi-year deals to relievers. He's coming off a career year, if you look at the numbers. This year he saw his (full season) career best in: WHIP (1.163), BB/9 (2.7), K/BB (3.28), and of course his 88 appearances. I hate paying for guys after years like that.

You're right about the Phillies. I'd trade my team of chokers for them in a heartbeat (as long as I could punch Vicky in his douchebag face). How exactly are the Sox and Yanks something to despise? I have my reasons for disliking the Yanks, and I really couldn't care less about the Sox, but I don't despise either.

The postseason outcome doesn't really matter much to me when the Mets are out of it, I just want to see thrilling baseball like we got from Minnesota and Detroit last night. It would be icing on the cake if the Phils and Yanks lost, and another NL team won it all, but we'll just have to see what happens.

What about Pelfrey wasn't disappointing? I was expecting a pretty sharp dropoff, but he looked like a bufoon out there more than I expected.

This is a damage control smoke-screen so they can make us think they'll be contending next year so they can sell tickets. I for one am not buying it. I'm not driving 7 hours to see a game if Omar is still the GM and Jerry and Warthen are still there. I don't like throwing my money away, Mr Wilpon... that's your job.
