More liberal racism.Minorities aren't even allowed to be the victims most of the time. And why does he assume "viewers" only want to see wealthy white victims, especially since most prime time viewers are black or latino, and most white people aren't wealthy? I think it's the Hollywood lefty elites who want to see people like themselves and therefore write stories where they are the victims. Lots of people admired The Wire (which is a liberal show I could actually watch), and most of the characters are black.

Once the McCoy character got on the show (and he's always been rather sanctimonious), I normally rooted for the bad guys.

McCoy's the DA now? Wow, I actually shuddered when I read that.

but when Polanski emerged from his room during the night he discovered that the critic had gone home, leaving his date – who called herself “Nasty” – sprawled in an armchair in the sitting room.

There is so much that is just wrong and sad about that scenario. She'd already been used by the critic, and was now "sprawled in an armchair", i.e. intoxicated. Which of course turned Polanski on. And this poor girl was calling herself "Nasty", my goodness.

Saw the video. 90% of the lyrics won't be relevant or make any sense in five years. It is completely pointless. And I used to be a fan.

Thank you so much for this article. You expressed something I've felt for a long time but couldn't articulate. I don't like the rest of the world. The world is full of stupid countries. The world has always been plagued by extreme poverty, violence, and struggle. Outside of America, much of human society is very much the same as a hundred or five hundred or a thousand years ago: living in squalor, fighting violent, petty disputes, and waiting to die. In fact, if not for America, even more of human society would be like this.

America does just about everything better, even integrating Muslims. Look at France, the liberal dream, where whole sections are a war zone. Worse than the worst American ghetto. In fact, I live in an American ghetto right now, but I have a computer, a home with running water and electricity, and I will soon have a college degree. And I can walk outside my door without the rational fear of being officially raped by members of my own government or conscripted into some ragtag army. Only in America!

America is more good for the globe than any Global Community would be.

I left Watchmen after about 45 minutes. I was not bored by the movie, that's why I stayed for so long. My problem was that I did not care about the characters, not any of them. I did not like them and did not find them interesting. 45 minutes is about my limit to at least find a character interesting. Beyond that, the characters were not only dull but they behaved vilely. I hated all of them. And the storyline was taking a very long time to get somewhere so I just moved on. But I knew from the first time I saw the trailer that this was going to be a movie that looked very silly while taking itself very seriously. I'm not saying the movie was bad, just that it's not something anyone ever needs to see.
