Last time around we had a 'cast iron guarantee' of a referendum. That's why. And not just from the Conservatives. The Lib Dems and Labour promised one as well. The voting public simply don't trust politicians to deliver on their promises any more and that is why smaller parties are gaining more and more support.
If Cameron promised one now, who could honestly believe him?

Perhaps such a trend might prompt Google in to getting a bloody move on.
Creating anticipation is one thing, but frustrating potential customers is not good for business.
