I believe it is Monktown, Vermont. or Rhode Island. I re read all the clues and certain sayings were given such as calculating the captions. Everytime I look at the clues I come up with either place.

I totally agree, Vermont is known for granite also its states beverage is milk. Many of the clues given so far fit Vermont.
