There are still metal slides at some of the parks here in Cedar Rapids, Twin Pines park is just down from us and it has tall metal slide...it's wicked fast and the kids LOVE it but obviously it does get really hot...parents just need to remember to check for these things :)

I'm certainly not saying she should be locked up...lord knows that our jails/prisons are already flooded and we need the space and tax money to put away serious criminals... however walking away with her license valid and not even so much as a civil penalty would just be unthinkable. It would be an entirely different story had it been a 16 year old who hit him. *sigh* I'm just saying...it's a no win situation no matter how you look at it, but she can't walk away without some kind of retribution.

How is running over a man in a parking lot not careless? Obviously she didn't hit him on purpose, but the accident is still an act of carelessness and she should be held accountable in some way.

That's my question as well. The therapist advised her husband to remove all knives and guns...wouldn't that alarm most parents that perhaps she shouldn't be left alone with the children???
