It isn't students that are stealing the letters, it is IC residents tired of the influx of Chicago thugs. They figure if they don't see the sign stating that they are in Iowa City, they will get confused and keep going to Des Moines where they belong.

And why is it that Hawkeye Homers always as.sume that the team members are all good citizens and students? And only someone insecure in their own beliefs would throw out the liberal slam in a story about a drunk driving crash by a football player. I love the Hawks, but I would be happier seeing a bad team full of great guys, than a great team full of losers.

Very well stated....the black women are the cornerstone of the family in waaay too many cases, while the fathers are off playin. Being a single mom and raising decent kids can be done and is done in many cases, but the bad outside influences, the ones that a real dad would keep their kids away from, are just too strong.
