Thanks for stopping by, and for your engaging thoughts...

I would say that Jesus didnt come for us to go tell other or even do 'lifestyle' evangelism, well, at least in the conventional/conservative theological sense. I'm not sure we're meant to sell God. I think our lives will do as you say, speak for us. For me, that is the loudest speaker of all. We can dot the 't''s and cross the 'i's' (yes, on purpose! lol) - but, in all honesty evangelism in its hebrew habitat is about teaching and learning or as Brian Mclaren shares, a dance.

thanks for the thought. I think it comes down to how you 'read' the
story of God, either as a car manual or as a narrative we are already
entered into. if it is the latter, then most of what we read is 'myth'
(in the campbellian sense) where there are deeper truths hidden
beneath the cracks of the story. and there are bigger over-arching
themes then what is being shared, and there is more in the gaps
that we miss. and so christ then becomes bigger than christ, christ
becomes a metaphor for us. for who we are meant to be. the potential
of all humanity. christ being the second adam, means (adam in hebrew
means 'mankind') humanity is the new christ. we learn to be better
people by living out christ wherever we are.

Thanks Jeff. Yes, I think the alterity of the narrative is that Jesus/God (not of this world) entered our world. We find advent when we find the space to allow others in. :)

Hi Sam! - Great point. I don't see syphilis as a sin either. Which is another great point that Jesus didn't die FOR our sins. Thanks for that insight...
