15 years ago @ KY3 - One day left until Sen... · 0 replies · +1 points

Let me tell you something bookworm . I can copy and send you my Social Security record. You know the one they send you a couple of months before your birthday. I have been paying into the sydtem and working every year since I was 13 years old. That was in 1963. Every year is accounted for from 1963 to the present. I have never been without a job. I have worked my as$ off every single day of my life. It is an embarrassment for me to draw unemployment. I have worked with the Missouri Career Center, their Veterans rep. I have done the on-line thing as well as knocked on doors from Branson to Springfield. In the last year and a half, (and I have kept a record), I have to date over 400 applications out. Out of all those applications, I had ONE call for an interview, to be an usher at a local theatre in Branson. When I went in for the interview, I knew I had about as much chance of landing that minimum wage job as a snowball in hell. There was over 50 people there that day that I counted, and they had 2 days they were interviewing. Just like that bastard senator from Oklahoma stating something to the fact that people don't have much of an incentive to work if they are getting unemployment. My incentive to find gainful employment is that I get to keep my house. You really need to rephrase what you stated. I am sure there are some people like that out there, but I feel it is a small majority compared to how many people unemployed. I have sold everthing I owned that I worked hard for over the years, just to make ends meet. My boat, (1998), motorcycle (1986), a craftsman tool box (4piece 15 years old) and olmost every tool that I owned, my Martin guitar that I inherited from my father's estate, and a lot more, just to mention a few. I have never been one to live beyond my means, but my finances are totally exhausted. And you sit there and have the audacity to make a statement like that. If you were only to walk a day in my shoes, you would be much more well educated on the way things really are for a lot of people.

That is exactly why you are not a consumer advocate. You have the "who cares" attitude. Sure, let them keep lying and make those extra bucks from our hard earned dollar.

So you think by not participating is going to keep the price of mowers down? NOT !!!!

16 years ago @ KY3 - Mowers can cash in on ... · 0 replies · +2 points

You guys are nuts! the only reason MOST real men buy specific mowers is the horsepower. The more horses the better and easier it is on the mower especially if it a self-propelled. So, I guess what you are saying is "it's okay if some big multi-million dollar a year company screws me over, I'm not too smart like that ya know" HEY GUYS, WAKE UP. If it weren't for some consumer advocate, these cmpanies would keep on lying to sell their mowers. Since 1994, I have bought 5 mowers and one of them being a rider. I just wish I had all the serial numbers. Ya, well one mower may not seem like a big deal alright, BUT LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE !!! False Representation guys!! They need to pay and they are going to pay and maybe, duh just maybe, bleeding heartsd like yourself will wake up. How many other things do we buy on a daily basis that we are getting ripped-off on?

And just where do you think you would be if everyone who joined the armed forces since the begining of our country had deserted? I don't know if you know this or not, but Canada is one of our best allies. You don't think they have ever fought in any wars?

Rena1216, please read my response to namvet.

Read Rena1216. Exactly namvet, evidently you answered your own question and didn't even realize it. How does the term you used "draft dodgers" refer to this person who willingly joined? Like Rena1216 stated, he new well what he was getting into when he JOINED, not drafted. Was giving the nam dodgers a pardon right or wrong? Hell I don't know and don't care. Had it been earlier in history, they would have all been shot. But joining and knowing full well before hand is an entirely differnet thing. This guy was probably a bed-wetter in boot camp also.
