Healthcare is a right that has been expanded to cover all persons in other prosperous countries. We must centralize, not for profit, the system. America can not clean up this economy and be competitive in the 21st century without taking the burden of profit orientated healthcare off the back of individual citizens and businesses. I agree that the gumming up must be reorganized and streamlined into technological efficiently, I worked for the insurance industry in my younger years.

With premiums of $21,000 a year in premium for two 50 year old adults who have had continuous coverage and 3000/6000 in deductibles plus co-pay for BCBS, I will take my chances on Obama and government healthcare.

I have no fear about Obama's healthcare coverage. I do fear the massive failure of the current system in proving coverage that even the middle or upper middle class can afford. Healthcare coverage, due to being profit orientated, is becoming out of reach to all.

Yes, this is why healthcare must become a non profit government program and not a profit center for private insurance companies. Since corporation are in business to make a profit, we must remove healthcare from private for profit companies. Healthcare in a basic human right and should not be for profit.

We need coverage available for everyone, including pre-exhisting conditions at a fair price. However, all must be covered regardless of their ability to pay premium. I know doctors are concerned about having bedside paper charts with vitial information available, however we must streamline using technology to cut costs (possibliy computer screens in every room to retrive information fast).

The most important part is we must take the profit out of healthcare coverage for insurance companies and make this a government program. No more middle man. Doctors and nurses have a right to be well paid for their investment in education. Corporate insurance companies do not need to make a profit on healthcare. The lives of Americans should not be a profit center for wallstreet or insurance companies.
