This is true. Most muslims arent following the strict Islam, but live pragmatic lives. Most Muslims i spoke to, were less strict believers than most christians I spoke actually. All religions are idiotic of course, but still.

You should look at the things happening in Europe or America at the time of the Quran. Child marriages were common in Europe in those days too. Also, the feudal lords in Europe at the time had the right to spend the first night with the brides, and this was hundreds of years before Europe had evolved to witch hunts, slavery, colonization, religious wars among christian factions, inquisition, etc etc.

I thought the same about Catholocism, I was forced to convert as a child by my parents by ritual waterboarding. I had a friend, a Protestant, who was circumscised without his consent by his parents, and then i learnt that Jews too were corcumscised, and now apparently Malaysian Muslims force their children to convert too. You would almost think that religion has something intrinsicly forceful and absolute, something fascist indeed. Thank god for individual liberty and the Enlightenment. The battle of civization and liberty against religions is perpetual.
I am a libertarian, not affiliated with any party, i will tell it to Democrats, Republicans and you too. I am not interested in these divisive tactics that sideline the issue. Get on topic.
