Just a quick question on entering-- why did you guys remove the option to save entry form information? I don't mind that much, but it does take longer to enter twice daily.

I used to live in Jacksonville. I would hardly consider it a vibrant community. When we first moved there in 2007, there was at least one murder a day, constant officer-involved shootings, and a very mixed neighborhood. It all really depended on what part of town you lived. Avoid anything north of the St John's river, the Arlington area, the westside, and a few others. Really strange place; you could, on one street, see giant mansions and slums. Most places would require you to drive from your nice neighborhood through the worst of the worst neighborhoods just to get anywhere.
While I wouldn't mind winnning, I'd sell out rather than move back there again. You just never feel safe except right on the beach (except Atlantic Beach-- kinda slummy). Jacksonville Beach is nice, though and very close to even nicer Ponte Vedra Beach where my second apartment was located (first Arlington area). Also, St Augustine as a wonderful destination and only a half-hour drive along A1A. The winner needs to be prepared for miserable heat and mosquitoes, gators, cottonmouth snakes, etc. When I left the area, the job market was very bleak as well-- if that matters to the winner.

Looks like a decent area, just worry about the mosquitoes. How big is the lot and will it be fenced in (please, please fence the yard) for dogs or other animals? Can't wait to start entering. I hope they don't ruin the fun this time by announcing online prior to the show or in lieu of the show. I love a good surprise.

I agree, Seattle would be a great next location. I wonder if they could do one in Vancouver Canada? From what I hear it is one of the most liveable cities in the world.

I've never lived in a big city; not sure if I'd like it. However if I did win, I'd try it on for a while. I'd go the great restaurants, museums, historic sites, etc. Then probably sell it. New York life is just not my speed, and I'm too accustomed to having living space and cars to drive in traffic that moves. I have never in my life used public transportation-- well maybe once. I don't like taxis and subways confuse me. I am also of the opinion that if you live in an apartment, you aren't a homeowner. Besides, where would I walk my dogs for bathroom brakes?
Of course I'll enter and hope to win, but this would be one to sell asap.

Has anybody researched the job prospects in Stowe Vermont or nearby cities? When I win I will need an income (even if they tack on the cash with the prize-- that pays sales/property taxes and other fees). I only know of two industries-- skiing and making teddy bears lol.

Very pleased to see the new floorplan. Am I correct in that there seems to be a master bedroom and only one other regular bedroom, with the ski dorm as the third? Also looks like they made the stairs so that one could move large furnature up and down (I hope)-- a bonus for someone that has struggled to bend beds and couches around tight corners. Now if they just incorporate solar roof shingles and heated floors...

On another note, the entrance to the master bedroom looks like it goes right through what could be another closet, or is that just my imagination.

Kinda makes you wonder... could it be an above garage workshop (I hope I hope I hope)? Maybe a home theater or game room? Rental apartment? Hmmm.

Has anybody leaked the lot size? It would be nice to have a decent size yard (that I'll have to add a fence to) for outside recreation and my dogs playground. How about square footage?

On a totally unrelated note, it would be nice for the designers to leave out a dedicated kids room. I've never seen a winner with small kids at home. I have no kids and absolutely no interest in a room decked out in young girl/boy items that would just end up on ebay the next day. Why not just make the extra rooms standard guest rooms, or offices? Kids rooms only are good for kids in a very short time window, then they outgrow them.

You're probably right, but I hope the HOA allows fencing. My "kids" deserve the exercise area and outdoor restroom breaks independent of us.
