To put it into perspective, the phone comes with a $180 price tag along with a 2 year plan of at a minimum of $70/month (Sprint has great coverage). But of course, we're going for the developer conference, right? :)
Joshua, that's actually a fairly common question. The answer is that MMS is useful for sending to recipients with phones unable to access email with photos, but have an SMS/MMS plan. Remember, not everyone has an iPhone or equivalent smartphone. :)
On a side note, one of the neat things about the Pre that I wish my iPhone had is a week view for the calendar app. It won't be able to show content, but the blocks themselves can be visually useful.
"Contest begins August 23, 2009 at 12:00AM PST and ends August 27, 2009 at 11:59 PM PST"? Well, that would mean it's over before it started. :) Count me in anyway.
Is this $18 billion in profit from AT&T or the AT&T Mobility division?
Any talks of bringing the GSM version of the Palm Pre to T-Mobile? And will they be selling an officially unlocked phone at a premium price?
I love the analogy of shaking the phone as you would for the actual Boggle game. My main gripe about this game is that it's relatively difficult to select multiple words quickly and accurately, compared to a third party Boggle-like game I've played called, "Wurdle". If they can fix that part, this would be a huge improvement.
