The Math Comment Spam Protection plugin is very good for preventing comment spam on WordPress blogs, but I am now using IntenseDebate for comments because it offers a social networking options as well as spam protection.

Hey AeroKitty. Thanks for the spelling correction. I'll definitely be sure to send you all my copy for proofing before I post it. It is great of you to volunteer for that job :)

Hey Rick, Thanks for the tip. I will go check it out right now. I have really enjoyed Woopra, but it hasn't been without it's own share of trials. For me, Woopra represents a different way of looking at stats that Google Analytics hasn't been able to accomplish yet. But, you have definitely peaked my interest.

How did you come across VisiStat?

Sachin, thanks so much for letting me know. I wrote this article some time ago and it appears that Yaro has made some changes on his end, so I have updated all the links to point to his video on how he makes money from his blog.

Here is a link as well, http://opensourcemarketer.com/go/yaro-video/

In the video he walks you through his blog and shows you the paid advertising blocks and tells you how much each spot is making for him. It is a good lesson on how to structure your blog to be advertiser friendly.

What kind of info are you looking to get out of a blogging course?

Hey Dave, thanks for the comment. Your ChatToText Pyramid Scheme post has several useful links like Facebook's Terms of Service and it seems to mirror a lot of the feelings that were expressed in the post by AllFacebook. Anything that comes across multi-level marking first and product second is going to throw up some flags and make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. I think it's the fact that you're required to throw in your own money before you can realize any returns and the fact that the promise of large earning are held out like a carrot that makes things unsettling. If they would remove the six dollar requirement to promote the service and take the get rich banter down a notch, then I wonder if anyone would be so offended?

Would that make it more legit feeling?

I agree completely. I run my own ad server and I can say that I do have to consider things like availability, data backup, code backup, disaster recovery, and maintenance / upgrade issues. Once Google AdManager has some history I might consider migrating to them, but for now I am choosing to watch from a distance to see if there are any uniquely Google concerns.

Feel free to connect with me on Twitter.

How many sites do you plan to run ads across? Will you be running affiliate ads or promoting your own products?

That's good to know Anthony. Thanks for the feedback. What exactly did you decide? Are you going to use Google's AdManager or a self hosted solution?

Good suggestion Kara. I didn't think to look for customer reviews. I normally think of them when looking for other products, but I didn't think about it for the Dutch Oven. I'll keep that in mind when shopping for future kitchen tools :)

Sounds like a good idea. I haven't gone to any lengths to care for the rings, but I do make a habit of towel drying them after I wash the pot and the lid. It's a bit of a habit from having iron skillets and pans, but I'd rather be wrong on the side of preventive maintenance. Thank you for the suggestion.
