It doesn't sound suspicious to me. Xtradry, I would say perhaps a little overprotective, but maybe only a little. I would have no problem taking mine canoeing but they would not leave shore without that lifejacket on (and very securely on).

Actually I think we are falling behind in education because people can't tell the difference between losing/loosing and loser/looser.

Unless you are one of the 'looser athletic' in which case you get a pass.

How nice that everyone just falls into line behind the misdirection from the story.

The shooting incident (which quite possibly would have happened regardless of funding cuts) is simply used as a platform for the reporter/paper to express discontent with the cuts. There is nothing that indicates this shooting would have happened differently if county law enforcement had been on full-time.

Hey KATU, would it kill you to link to the text of the bill as well? You link to lots of other stuff mentioned in the article but not the most important thing.

As to the bill.... yep, may ban plastic bags but it will kill paper bags as well. Good work on keeping those jobs going!

Also, love how the bill is phrased to sound like it gives businesses permission to provide reusable bags. Nice. Thanks Government, for giving us permission to do something that is not illegal!
