I think you may be right. The Big East is overrated, Kentucky's being run by freshman (though what's new for a Calipari team,) North Carolina is .500 and the Pac 10 won't get an at large team into the tourney. KU this year I feel is probably close to as individually talented as 2008, but doesn't play nearly as well as a team. And yet they may just close out Big XII play undefeated, three games better than the 2008 team.

I'd been pondering this very conundrum recently. I decided that if I win the lottery I'm going to throw away all of my socks and buy new ones that are all identical so I can just pick from the pile. Not that I would need to win to lottery to buy all new socks - just why bother buying new socks when I'm 90% satisfied wearing mismatched ones. Sigh. Either way, it's unlikely my feet will ever look quite right together.

The official line, and this is news as of only a couple of days ago, is that James Mercer is taking a break from The Shins to work on his new solo project, Broken Bells. They've got a pretty good song on their myspace, check it out, http://www.myspace.com/brokenbells Also, Mercer says here he's still going to write songs for The Shins and they may have an album come together sometime in 2011. http://thequietus.com/articles/03574-news-james-m... So not all bad, but it seems with egos and what have you, there's always a chance a hiatus turns into a breakup.
