Your not kidding you are going to save alot of time. When I switched to MU I cut basic administration tasks on all the WP blogs I run more then in half. I have a few MU blog networks under my belt. If I can be of any assistance, please let me know. I have two blog networks for our company setup using WordpressMU + Buddypress + bbPress. The domain name mapping tool is awesome. Another great resource for WordpressMU is at wpmudev.org. Check them out, all the questions I had about MU I have found answers to there and have learned a great deal about MU from their community. I have also worked out quite a few kinks with template issues (we use Thesis and it is not quite ready for MU out of the box). If you need another helper, give me a shout.
