Please consider the additional traffic due to the increased number of motorized skates on the road. While you ponder that, think of the water saving toilet that needs two or three flushes to do the job.
Highways, hospitals, schools, defense, etc are already accounted for in a variety of taxes. The problem in California is an extreme level of regulation on businesses combined with extreme levels of taxation. As businesses and people leave, there will be nothing left but a bunch of whiny liberal Hollywood types, elderly hippies and illegals. How empty of ideas do you have to be to seriously discuss taxing pot to raise money?

Why can't a full blooded conservative win in Cally? If things get bad enough, this can change. I do not live there but I have two friends who own/owned small businesses in Sac and LA. One friend closed his business last year. The other is contemplating a move to the midwest. People are leaving the state....people that contribute to the economy. A good candidate can spell out the real issues and win. Many people thought conservatism was dead in the 70's. ..... then along came two guys..... Carter, then Reagan. Keep pushing the 'right' message and it will win. Maybe not in one election but soon enough.
