Yes but the rules are about to change. Medicare will soon no longer cover things which are not "cost effective" and we all know that will mean less care for the really sick or really aged. Is it cost effective to treat an 80 year old for cancer? I bet they say no.

I am dismayed by all the people and organizations that call themselves Catholic but do not follow the church's teachings. Those who are brazen about it should be publicly called out and should lose the right to call themselves Catholic. Inviting President Obama to speak is Notre Dame's way of saying they do not care to be thought of as a Catholic institution and the Church should grant their request. Few seem to want to stand up and be Catholic, especially among colleges. Sad.
