neo_conned_Rob makes a good point. Limbaugh's apology wasn't much of one, and it came ONLY after his sponsors started to flee.

of Maher or Limbaugh, Maher is the more principled.

Okay Maher. Interesting point. You acted just as lousy as Limbaugh did.

But Limbaugh apologized.

And, per your point, Limbaugh's apology was a bit, well, questionably motivated. Does anyone here thing that Rush was truly sorry?

I don't think he's very much in the closet about it, saying things like this:

“If you just cut, if all you’re thinking about doing is cutting spending, as you cut spending you’ll slow down the economy.” - Mitt Romney, speaking in Michigan the other day.

Santorum is lowering expectations and claiming the mantel of "We gave him a run for his money and blackened his eye in his home state."

That's all well and good as far as spinning a loss goes, Rick.

But a victory is still a victory and we all know you'll be a lot happier if you ACTUALLY WIN tomorrow night.

So you are saying that there wasn't poverty in America prior to the 1930s?

A lot of what you say makes sense, but to the problems you cite...the issue is no daddy, not government is the daddy. Contrast this to hitler or obl. They filled a vacuum. My fear is that we have such a vacuum here.

I can understand that you feel that way. However your point isn't very persuasive. For a father "figure", that sounds pretty disembodied.

The offense wasn't that we burned a Koran. Koran burning is allowed, there just has to be certain procedures followed.

Look, it is a simple thing, and once we decide on this simple thing, then the rest is a matter of discipline.

Are we at war with Islam or ain't we?

If we are at war with Islam, then how come "we" can't elect someone who can say it?

Since those among us who believe we are at war with Islam are a minority, then just admit that this view is not shared at the top, or in general. Let's admit that really, we are at war with some terrorists who are Islamic. Which is different than being at war with Islam as whole.

Recognizing this, then let's show some intelligence and discipline and quit the counterproductive muddling and confusion and inconsistent messaging on this matter.

America deserves better than this confused loyalty and lack of discipline to the mission clarity.
