Yeah they changed the 3D API a bit, will fix this weekend thanks.

Yes the new 3D support in Silverlight 5 requires hardware acceleration. It uses DirectX or OpenGL under the covers. You can still get some 3D capabilities in software in Silverlight 5 using the perspective transforms available in earlier versiond of Silverlight but certainly not with the same performance.

ah yes... actually Ascender provides a font pack for use in XNA games for free, we should try to find out if they can extend that to Silverlight games too.

I like the co-loc idea, there were times I thought about actually getting an office but I couldn't justify the cost of that, a co-loc could be a good compromise.

Agreed, there aren't too many phones out there yet and many that are out there are being used by devs or others that may not be as likely to download and buy a bunch of apps. That being said, at this point that's out of Microsoft's hands and not something they can really impact significantly.

Since there aren't a ton of phones out there now, this is the time where they can fix the marketplace and everyone buying a new phone after those fixes will have a better first impression. In the meantime, the recommendations above and some that have been posted in the comments can help games get noticed in this hostile environment, no matter what the root cause is.

Thanks for your feedback, sorry you don't like it. Are there any indie games you like?

Yes unfortunately right now I don't blame you. Sadly even with all of the complaints about Xbox Live Indie Games, they put indie games on the phone at an even bigger disadvantage. I'll be trying to recoup some of my efforts by creating an Xbox version of Popper 2, then maybe I'll see what kind of shape MonoDroid is in.

I really want the platform to succeed, and all of this is fixable, right now I would like Microsoft to at least acknowledge the issues and state that they plan on addressing them over time.

Wally, yes but at least on Xbox, indie games are in their own category and if you go there you are comparing apples to apples and you don't have the noise of the XBLA games in that particular section of the marketplace. Also you can sort by ranking and there are no free games on Xbox Live Indie Games so you have a better chance of getting noticed.

I don't think background processing is critical for games, but it would be nice to have the last app stick around a little longer instead of being tombstoned right away so that if you accidentally hit a button like the search button accidentally you don't have to go through the loading process again that most games require.

Jonas and Andy,

Thanks, let's keep the discussion going, I'd like to learn what I could do better as well. One thing I need to do is create a page or a site for my game to make it easier for people to find on the web. I'm also working on a web version that I'd like to get working as a Facebook app to increase visibility.

Ok sorry about that, I uploaded a new version that has the MVVM Light assemblies included.
