I also gave up on Snapture and miss some of its features. This, however, has a lot more appeal! Thanks!

Just Another iPhone Blog : Introducing the OS X widget that is saving my bacon: Minutes

Thomas: As a presenter, I often need to display a timer for breaks, etc. I have found the 3-2-1 Timer from BaldGeeks.com to be an exceptional widget (and it is resizable for different displays - such as LCD projectors).

ssschmidt: I found the same problem. It shows as a download widget at Apple, but the redirect to the developer's website for download is now 404. Instead, I tried the Company's direct website and found the link: http://keisasaki.com/Minutes.zip

Just Another iPhone Blog : Thanks a Lot iPad – Now My iPhone Typing Sucks

Actually I noticed that right away: my typing was never too great on the iPhone and now it's become even worse (why the hell am I hitting the "n" key instead of the space bar so often?!) It's as if the iPad is the iPhone's "accuracy-annihilator" ... (said in the Dufenschmirtz voice)

Just Another iPhone Blog : Background Apps: OMG My Phone Iz Broke!

I agree with you Ray! It wasn't until I jb again with jailbreakme.com and got SBS Settings back on tap that I realized which specific apps would remain running in the background! The hidden backgrounding dock that surfaces from the double-click in iOS4 doesn't tell you which ones are currently running; instead it's more a "recently used apps" dock. Patrick has the right idea: it should be a menu option in the Settings menu.

Just Another iPhone Blog : Blast from the Past: Favorite Old School iPhone Apps from Before the App Store

I still have Snapture... and I agree it was darn good. When iOS4 came out, though, it's messed up the colors! Skin tones are now all blue, no reds, etc. It doesn't show up, however, until you save that "perfect shot" to the Camera Roll so the preview looks great. It took me a while to figure out what was happening. I went to Snapture Labs' website and their Customer Support is a forum where is reported by others. However, there's been no response by Snapture Labs so there's nobody to directly email. I guess I'm going to have to go to the App store and review it... bummer.

Just Another iPhone Blog : Getting in shape with C25K: an iPhone exercise app

Bucketifried: Yesterday I would have said "I don't think so" based on another exercise app I'm using and preparing to review and who states that it canNOT run in the background (due to iOS4 programming) and therefore locks the screen - just as C25K does - because of multitasking issues. Today, however, I see that C25K has an App Store update that reports multitasking support?! Since I personally don't use the Nike+iPod kit, I can't answer. As a first-time exerciser by app, I'm too inexperienced to let you know. Maybe others have additional perspectives!

Hmmm... thanks for the info... But I don't see how. On the main screen are native apps and IM settings. When I look under settings, I don't find an option for 3rd party apps. What am I missing?

I really like Notifier (though its icon displays as Reminder) as a way to get repeat tones of missed items & launch apps directly from the lockscreen. Its only limitation is it can only be used on the native apps of Mail, Phone, & Message.

Just Another iPhone Blog : Second Look: Front Contacts - Make Calls & See Recent Calls from the iPhone Lock Screen (jailbre

A former BlackBerry user asked me if there's an app that displays they have mail without sliding to unlock (BlackBerry apparently has blinking light to draw attention to the device). I don't know of any non-jb apps do you? I prefer Notifier - icons can be placed on the lock screen so that when they are touched, it opens the corresponding native app: mail, phone, calendar, message. The icons can be large or small and best of all... the app is free! It doesn't show recent call list, but with one touch, I can get it.

Just Another iPhone Blog : Review: Awaken easier with "Sleep Cycle" for iPhone

I'm not sure how this might work for you, hugo. One of the settings is to "calibrate" so the iPhone gets the sense of the surface on which you're sleeping. If you are on many different beds, I wonder how that might impact its performance. I've slept on many hotel beds with this as my primary alarm - and have never used the calibration feature - but I always return home to the same mattress. Additionally, how do you find a place to put it if you're sleeping upright in an airport lounge?! ;-) In America, our saying if someone is grumpy is "you must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed..." - which makes it sound as if we're more promiscuous than the Dutch! HA!
