i came across it on facebook, it was listed when i left another nader group as a related group. i think someone involved with the campaign started it, but that was before the e-mail they sent out today about the November 5th movement. The latest, final info seems to be http://november5.org

She must be very proud of her son! It's sad it takes a ten year-old to educate the people who are supposedly teaching us about how to vote and how elections work.

well said. great decision on the part of Koppel. now, i just wish i could vote with my television reception and get better news than what's offered by ABC and the corporate media, but unfortunately i don't have that option because we no longer control our public property (the airwaves).

http://www.votenader.org/ : Dear Donna: A Letter to the AP -- Ralph Nader for President in 2008

I don't know that it won't make any difference. A lot of people think the whole campaign won't make a difference and we should prioritize and strategize by supporting a corporate candidate. I'm certainly not opposed to prioritizing and strategizing but I think you need to give me actual reasoning to back up what you mean by it. I think it sounded from the blog on votenader that people calling gallup may have made a small difference. Also, my previous comment wasn't about thick skin or not, it was about documenting what happened with my call, encouraging others to do the same, and i'll admit insulting someone who more than deserves it for her involvement in silencing the voices of the majority of Americans. Almost all the newspapers I've seen get a huge part of their content from the AP. They haven't given ANY real coverage to someone at least 10 million americans plan to vote for. If 'growing thick skin' means just letting that go, i'm glad my skin's getting thinner.

Just called both of them. Left a message with Fournier's secretary. Cassata answered her phone and just said to call their complaint line and she didn't have time to talk--in this highly condescending tone of voice I might add, she sounded like a real jerk. I called the number she gave me and it turned out to be an editorial desk and that person transferred me to a message line where I left a message explaining that if they're wondering why people don't buy papers much anymore, it might have to do with the fact that they're not covering what's important to Americans (ie the majoritarian issues and positions that Nader is standing for and millions of Americans are voting for come November). I hope they get inundated.

I just called Gallup (at the number above and was directed to Newport's assistant) and she said they ARE including all the third-party candidates in their primary question. Is this correct? Anyone know how I can find out for sure about this? Thanks.

http://www.votenader.org/ : Protest Gallup’s Exclusion of Nader -- Ralph Nader for President in 2008

Well, where to begin? The only actual reasons you give to back up your insults and accusations are that Mr. Nader is wasting voters' money and he has no chance of winning. So I guess I'll respond to the actual arguments you make... Wasting voters' money? He's running a very frugal campaign and certainly accomplishing much more with each dollar he gets than the corporate candidates. Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure the corporate candidates were the ones who just gave away $750 Billion of voters' money to a bunch of crooks who immediately proceeded to spend half a million vacationing at a resort in celebration. He has no chance of winning? Let's say for the sake of brevity in my argument that you're right. Would you then tell the anti-slavery parties and women's right to vote party that they were a waste? That's what people told them--that they should quit it and support the lesser evil between the Dems and Whigs or Dems and Repubs respectively. They never won, but they certainly pushed their very important issues.

Better Than Nader : Looking Past November -- Watchdogs and Other Canine Metaphors

Hi, I haven't heard much more happening with it yet aside from references to it in a couple of Mr. Nader's speeches. I assume if they have enough people they'll get more into it more after Nov 4. But if I were you I would call and e-mail the campaign and ask them. (202) 471 5833 and their e-mail contact form is here: http://www.votenader.org/contact/ If you call them, let me know what they say.

You're right, some of the stuff Nader helped pass or create has been taken over by corporate interests (which he pointed out himself in, for example, his campaign protest of NHTSA earlier this year)--I was just attempting to try to address what sounded like questions about Mr. Nader's own positions. I wish I knew anything I could tell you about finding a lawyer, but I don't know the first thing about it. I don't know if there are any public interest law people/groups who would look into something like this, but that's the only thought that comes to mind and you seem like a proactive enough person that I'm guessing you have looked or are looking into it. Probably doesn't do you much good, but Very Best Wishes.

Is that so? it seems a glaring omission on your part that you fail to include any back-up for your claim that the best candidate, who unlike the corporate candidates, has worked against (and not supported) the war, the PATRIOT Act and assault on our civil liberties, & corporate welfare among many other issues is somehow not serious? Especially with respect to candidates who continue supporting those things? I for one don't consider the candidates supporting policies that are clearly ruining our Constitution, country and planet to be legitimate. To borrow a quote from Ashley Sanders' video (you can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPbJY2rs0QI or read the transcript here: http://betterthannader.blogspot.com/2008/08/chump...) "I look around and I see unions endorsing Wal-Mart board members, peace activists voting for Iraq and escalated war in Afghanistan, environmentalists resigning themselves to capping and trading, and the new homeless cashing $500 checks and hoping for the best. And uh this apparently is our golden strategy, I can't quite understand it, but what it now means to be viable is apparently to vote for a candidate who can't give you what you want. "And these days I guess a viable candidate is someone who has impressed enough rich people that they can't help the poor, enough mercenaries that they've forgotten the civilians, and enough people with bad ideas that they've forgotten how to think."
