Please understand that your parents are trying to do what they think is right for you. The best course of action for you is to educate yourself. Finish school. Get a degree and in the mean time, learn how to debate. Arm yourself with the skills that will allow you to be effective in the future. Knowledge, history, and a profitable skill. Long term goals are the key to success. And your most powerful tool is to simply lead by example. Integrity is the greatest asset of all. As unpopular as this may be, integrity will allow you to use the knowledge you accumulate over time in an effective way. This is a hard thing for someone of your age, but if I knew now when I was your age, well, things would be a little different.

I appreciate your calm and meaningful debate of these issues. However I have to take issue with the context in which you place your clever quote. The problem with your approach is that the meaning of the quote to a God fearing (which ever God it may be) person is completely different than those who believe in no God. The problem with you approach is that Jefferson believed in God. In that context, there are eternal laws in which we live. You might recognize a subset of those eternal laws are also known as physics. Within that context, Jefferson was refering to the ever evolving awareness of man. As Man continues to discover a little of the truth at a time, the Constitution can accomodate that. Take racial rights for example. Our founders knew in their heart that the state of those situations were wrong but they also knew they could not correct it themselves. So they created a rule of law by man that would allow our great nation to correct its wrongs over time. The progressive movement of today has already determined that man created God and from that perspective, Jefferson's words are misunderstood. Freedom is, and only can be, given by God and not any man.

This is a great point. I would also like to point out the actions the student was talking about, the Senator was defending Freddie and Fannie by attacking the regulator! He even said the regulator was "Lynching" the head of Fannie Mae, Franklin Raines! This is his only defense and it is about to run out of gas..

It’s interesting that you condemn us for not thinking for ourselves when you yourself make accusations that are not original either. So please move on. The bottom line is this. Bush made a mistake by starting the bailouts. BO made and even bigger mistake by quadrupling the bailout. CEOs do not go to work every day looking for a way to suck thier company dry. That is naive. And I would like to clarify something. BO did not realize that the bailout was a mistake; he realized he had wasted our money without keeping all of the control. He got nothing for something! His next attempt will allow him to control anyone who takes the money. If you would like to research your issue here, please look into those folks that got "bonuses". You will find that those "bonuses" were actually compensation because the company did not want those folks to leave because they were rebuilding it and the company would not have survived without them. Please continue in next post.

I don't expect you to change your mind, but you need to know, you and I are Americans. I am a true conservative and I see you as an American with potential, not a liberal. If you would look into why and how we got here, and here is the ability to say what we want, you will find that war is a necessity and will be until every person on this planet takes responsibility for themselves.
