I think you've missed the point - Dan may have been on season 3 for a few fleeting moments (or minutes) so why do you think he should have had droves of fans then? Dan created a following after episodes not minutes. As for experience, he worked for a home builder - is that NOT experience? Maybe not by your standards. As for his painting in the Priestley's baby room, I don't recall Dan putting a painting in every single room he worked in except the baby room so how does that make him David by doing it once. As for Todd, you obviously didn't read my comment as I didn't say it would NOT translate well on TV -- I said I didn't know if it would or would not (for an entire series). I just don't care for most of Antonio's designs - I never said he wasn't a designer.

Again, if you just checked a couple facts, you'd have the answers to your questions above. Karma - right - I think it will be working in Dan's favor.

As for throwing people under the bus - there's a difference in being asked point blank "who's the weakest link on your team" and answering direct questions from the judges.

Dan has an architecture degree; he worked for a home builder out of college; he wanted to start his own business but then the recession hit, he got divorced and put his design business dreams on hold. Fell back on his old job as a bartender. As for Dan fans when he didn't make season 3 -- no one even knew he didn't make the cut (except for maybe 15 seconds he might have been on the first show...i don't know if he was on there or not). Just because Dan paints, doesn't mean he stole it from David (I'm sure there are other designers who had paintings long before David came along). I do agree that Todd was the more exciting designer on season 2 but I don't know that his creativeness would have translated well in a show or not. So before you go dragging Dan down any more, might you check out his background - there's plenty of info out there on it.

I think you might have to have an account. It's easy to set one up; you don't have to give all that much info about yourself; and can deactivate it right after if you don't want to keep it.

I guess you don't think much of the judges' opinions/choices after all. They gushed over Dan's white room 'til the end; gushed about his nursery and were more positive about dan's final challenge than antonio's. in the end they picked antonio but i'm sure hgtv will be behind the scenes reigning in some of his "designs".

No, Jason nailed the curtains in the military family's house. The pergola only ended up costing $5500...(yes, originally signed the $10k contract but it was later changed).

And thanks for posting the links to the tv interview and online interview. I hadn't seen either.

I appreciate your posts are getting more positive (except for the thing you and dpisme have going). I'm not hung up on the pergola drama. I don't really think that had anything to do with who won. I hope you are right and Dan gets a show (besides the on-line thing) - Antonio may be entertaining but I think Dan's DESIGNS - not necessarily his hosting - probably appeal to a broader base of hgtv viewers.

Mancave - finally agree with something you have to say. Kudos with trying to turn this around for the dan fans.

I'm not against Antonio, I just don't agree with the outcome. I feel played by hgtv, not antonio. I don't know what the "catch" is going to be with his new show so I can't say if I'll watch or not. I'm sure Dan will have a show somewhere - hopefully hgtv won't stand in his way (meaning if they have him under some crazy exclusive contract and won't let him out if another network offers him a show).
