Waiver Wire Transaction 4/3: Taking advantage of the 2 DL slots, I dropped Furcal & picked up Ted Lilly, Huston Street (added them both to the DL), and Alex Rios for OF depth. My feeling is that Street & Rios were dropped prematurely; Rios had a solid Spring & could rebound. He could certainly produce a 20/20 season and work his way up the White Sox lineup if he maintains a productive bat (though OBP could take a hit)
Waiver Wire Transaction 4/4: I dropped Nolan Reimold and picked up Alberto Callaspo on 3/31 for his 2B/3B eligibility and the fact Callaspo could hit 3rd or 4th in the KC lineup. However I'm not overly excited about this acquisition and will monitor Reimold's progress (he ended Spring Training on a hot streak) to see how things play out.
Waiver Wire Transactions 4/3: With Beltran and Webb taking up DL spots, I picked up Brian Matusz and Erick Aybar for depth. It's unclear if I will really need either one but of the two I am more excited about Matusz's potential; Aybar hitting leadoff could be a cheap source of runs/stolen bases.
Yeah if you had him for that game last year, you would have been pretty happy!
Waiver Wire Transaction 3/20: Picked up Trevor Hoffman and dropped Aaron Harang. With the Santana trade, I don't think I need the additional starter and I'm not that comfortable with Harang anyways. Hoffman gives this team five closers that all have fairly good job security. Let's just hope for some luck avoiding the injury bug :-)
Fantasy Baseball Trade 3/20: Ahead of the season I traded Ryan Zimmerman/Drew Stubbs for Johan Santana/Gordon Beckham. Without going into my strategy too much, I wanted one or two highly rated starting pitchers and am hoping Santana fits the bill. I'm also not a big fan of Zimmerman and even though I think he'll do great, I am hopeful that I can replace a fair amount of his production with either Guerrero, Beckham, or a free agent later in the season.
Waiver Wire Transaction 3/19: I picked up Neftali Feliz from waivers, dropping Mark Buehrle. I like K's, which Buehrle does not really offer. Could be a mistake but we'll see as the season rolls on.
Waiver Wire Transaction 3/11: I dropped Hideki Matsui for Francisco Liriano, knowing I'll need some depth at SP and Liriano is off to a great start to Spring Training. Since Matsui is only eligible at UTIL and may only log 400 or so AB's, I'd rather not take the chance on his season.
