Why shouldn't a mother have a right to marry her adult child or why shouldn't a bisexual be allowed to at least marry one of each sex or why shouldn't Lars be allowed to marry his doll if the idea behind affirming marriage is to give each person equal dignity under the law for whatever lifestyle they deem most affirming, even if it is a distinct or unpopular minority? It would be no different than if civil rights were applied to blacks but not hispanics. Somewhere down the road maybe another vocal minority with enough money will get their own special exemption, supposedly based on 'civil rights' but it still won't be civil rights. It will be judges continuing to overstep their rightful authority and otherwise making a mockery of the will of the people to institute their own rules based on what they want rather than what the law or the constitution prescribes.
