I totally agree that IF proven guilty child molesters deserve the worst punisment that we can give them, but I also believe in ones contitutional right to innocence until guilt is proven.
It may not be a private lake now but it sure appeared to be before by charging people to use it. While I do feel for the people who live there losing their residences, it is so tiring hearing the mostly rich snooty people whine about this, just move your $300,000 "cabins" to another lake where they have water, or dig a bit deeper build another dam and learn to share then people will be more sympathetic in the future.
Wow did anyone see the mother of this Daugherty kid on KGAN Wednesday night attacking the reporter? This kid doesn't stand a chance to be even a halfway decent member of society when his mother is a loser! My son was watching TV the other night when they showed the culprits mug shots on the news and the comment was of course kids from Jefferson and they are dirties! My children have all went to Jefferson and to have a few "dirties" make a name for themselves is a shame for all the good hard working kids that call Jefferson their school.
It would be nice if it were an affordable resturant, seems all the places that have reopened want to make the money that they lost because of the flood by charging outrageous prices for drinks and food. I wish them all luck but can see why they are not surviving.
Just when we all thought Prairie was the best school since the coming of Christ! You don't see this crap happening at the worst Cedar Rapids schools. So glad my children picked to go to Jefferson when given the choice.
Good bye Mr. City Manager! The council might want to rethink a contract that allows someone to quit their job and still get paid.
He is a cheating piece of crap, I for one hope he loses all that is important to him. By the looks of things his ego, money and the small head he thought with was all that he cared about....... it certainly was not his family.
Let's play nice boys:) Remember what MEN do during boys basketball season......Wrestle!
New era in city politics already looks better, Buy Local will be a big improvement and a boost to the often overlooked little guy. Restoring the City Hall is another step in the right direction, too bad the former council spent so much money to ouside people on the hope that FEMA would pay to have a historic and structurally sound building tore down and replaced with something cheesey no doubt. Go new council, you got my vote and have already shown that it was the right way to go.
