Obama's stance on Honduras marks a sad day for the United States and for democrats throughout the world.

The exact same thought occurred to me today. I can't remember a time in this country when I would have even contemplated such an idea.

I am a conservative, who also happens to be gay. I have always been against the "hate crimes" concept. A crime is a crime. Assault is assault. It is the act that should be punished, not the thought. Trying to divine the intentions of someone who commits a crime will take us down a very dangerous path towards punishing thought.

I think it shows that they understand that they are facing a real movement. Otherwise, they wouldn't let the tea parties get under their skin.

I saw the news that ACORN was protesting outside of 14 different mortgage companies today, pressuring them to ease lending standards, the practice that got us into trouble in the first place. ACORN receives federal funds, which means taxpayers are subsidizing a particular point of view, as well as the harassment of private corporations and individuals. ACORN members, then, are essentially the shock troops of the federal government. So if you are not acting in a way that suits them, they will come after you and harass you -- with the support of the government. What type of government harasses private individuals? I'm afraid it's the type of government that we are moving towards.
