That is interesting. My cousin's boyfriend is Assyrian, and he went on a rampage against my little sister when she made an offhand remark that he took as Anti-American. He and his mom escaped to Amman in the back of a truck so he could avoid joining Saddam Hussein's army, and he's really grateful to be here.
Oh, and many of the Chaldean Catholic people living here in MI voted Republican and were staunchly pro-McCain, if that says anything.
