Alright, first of all how many people in this thread have been to the middle east? A very small minority i am guessing. Now, on that topic, i want to explain to those individuals that have not been there the reality of the situation. Peace, yes, it is great, if i had it my way we would all get along and mind our own business and respect each others ways of life. However, when that way of life conflicts with your own what is the appropriate response? "Hey, i dont like that please stop." "I would appreciate it if you didnt say that around me." " I would appreciate it if you got out of my house (yard, driveway, property, COUNTRY)" Now here is the middle eastern way of doing things. A majority of the people there are polite, kind, respectful. Hell, i sat down at the same table as many middle eastern individuals that knew i was a christian and ate lunch with them for several months on end, but if i were not protected, if i were to wander out into the street by myself, i can promise you that i would be abducted, and my head would be chopped off the very next day, while the same people i just finished eating lunch with stood by and watched. The middle east is like the wild west. The majority does not stick up for themselves because they are afraid of a minority that has some guns. It is a lawless place. And god damn the US for trying to bring some order and a better way of living to there lives. Also, should the US pull COMPLETELY out of the middle east it would cause a power vacuum because the governing officials would no longer have the US military to fall back on, several coups would take place, and we would have the exact same recipe for disaster as we had during WWII and for Hitlers rise to power. It takes 1, JUST ONE, charismatic individual to brainwash that entire society into believing that war is good, and that they should crush every one that gets in their way. Now as for Muslims being recognized as being a part of ummah, Complete garbage and here is why: 1st of all, Muslims cant get along with themselves, let alone be recognized as one nation or band together as one nation. 2nd of all, there are so many different views as to how the Koran should be translated that not every muslim is the same.
