TODAY you won't be taxed on your garden and the fruits of your private labors but considering all the new "laws" I'd bet a dollar to a donut hole it won't take long for the government to figure out a way to tax our gardens - even the little tubs some of us use. If I am not mistaken, Watkins has been irradiating their dried spices for a long time. Seems to work because they are great. As seniors, we prefer irradiated milk because it lasts so much longer. Sometimes we go through a 1/2 gallon and sometimes it takes 2 weeks to go through a 1/2 gallon. At least in this instance it is a money saver for us. Properly done, home canned or frozen food is the best. The flavor can't be beat.
