That is the most stupid reason for not contacting your own son—because your too proud? What a jackass. It's no wonder why Steve has some problems with relationships, e.g. his first child comes to mind. I just wish that they all take stock of their own conciseness and realize that there is something more at work that just their earthly realities.
Voris' latest tribe on the Knights Of Columbus is right on! I am a 4th Degree and am wondering why I am a Knight. I have the same concerns that Supreme is more concerned about insurance than mens souls. We try each year to remove from our roles those men who stopped going to mass or being a "practicable catholic" a requirement to enter into the 1st Degree. More Councils and Assemblies are more concerned about keeping their memberships full in order to reap awards and to maintain a "social organization" within the parish that they forget the Knights' primary responsibilities of Family. Many Knights think that abortion, birth control and all the negative facets of the Catholic family are all OK. Once I retire from my work in two years I will terminate my membership and never look back. Voris' turning point was the vote of two Knights in the New York legislature that made same-sex marriage law. I agree that the Knight of Columbus MUST be the 24 hour watchdog of the Catholic promise in this society and progressive Knights must be left at the door of the church.
A true libertarian does not need government or anyone telling them what to do. They do what they want, if they want an abortion they get one, if they don't want to pay taxes they don't. If they want to live on a thousand acres of sand they go get some sand. You see, libertarians, true libertarians only follow their own desires, not yours or mine. Religion or moral authority rarely has any input into the libertarians thought processes. In fact, most libertarians abhors religion and all that they stand for. Consequently, moral theology is NOT even a minor thought in their minds.
It is very easy to watch a film as a civilian and then again as an ex-military person and get two diametrically opposed views of the same theme. I too was a Vietnam vet who saw both the land side and the sea side of the Navy experience, marine corpsman and ship board swabby. I can honestly say that every war movie has its realities and its antiwar attributes. All war movies are anti-war by virtue of its subject matter. Does anyone want to really die for their country even in a 'just war?' I think not. Some of the best war movies are those that show no fighting, no death but constant tension and worry. Gore in war is a given. Mr. Stone has a ax to grind and that is his right as a director, but please make sure that there is always someone out here quick to point out that the director/producer is taking poetic advantage of the uninitiated audience. I would also point out that even Mel Gibson's Vietnam movie was far fetched, even ludicrous at the end. But boy, the music was great as was the music in Platoon.
I always mention, when I blog about broadband issues, that the broadband scam goes way back to the days of King William of Blue Dress and his Faithful Depositor of Gore and the "Gore Tax" on all telecommunications bills that was supposed to help pay for expansion of broadband primarily to schools but in the process of expansion would provide broadband for all of us. How has this gone GoreBore? Not too good, and the worse thing is, we're still paying. I goes to show everyone that even the Kingdom of William lied to all of us, Damn, you can't trust no body any more.
You wouldn't have a weiner if Michele caught your ass.
Barb is the best by far. She had class even when she played an evil woman. I couldn't agree with your choice more.
The one problem is that everyone jumped to conclusions prior to watching the whole tape. As far as Beck is concerned, he tried to support Ms Sherrod as the tapes were being unraveled. Now, the problem is that although the tapes were initially taken out of context by most broadcasters, including the president and the Dept of Agriculture, Beck did not. But once the "Paul Harvey" of this story, e.g. Ms Sherrod's involvement with the Pig Payout to the black non-farmers and her law suit against the Dept. Of Agriculture made Ms. Sherrod's personal history suspect. Ms. Sherrod's history of suing and supporting others to rape the government of money they do not deserve is the real story that which Beck was eluding to after the initial Sherrod blow up. In that I think he is correct as is Breitbart's work on the Pig Payout.
