Mediacome is raising it's rates again!! For what!! Basic cable is terrible. They have no good movie channels anymore. They did away with what little we could watch and left us with junk and reruns. Their plan is to slowly push any good programing out of basic cable and merge it with what they call their new Family Channel which they are hoping will force us all to pay even more for the expanded cable. We really need some good competition in this area or they need to be regulated again. READ MY LIPS! Retired folks can't afford anymore increases. They are really pushing the envelope and they know it. How can costs be so high here but in Reading PA you only pay $13.00 a month for basic cable.? If anything we should be paying Less for basic cable since we are getting much, much less. Since switching over to the digital broadcasting, the reception at times is terrible, even on the local channels. Wake up Mediacom, give us a break!!

I have never heard of a heat burst so was surprised when I had to pick up all the tree branches the following morning. Obviously I am not a meteorologist so their explanation sounds plausible to me. However, where was all the hoopala on TV covering this? It seems every time we have a stormy period the regular shows get cancelled and we are forced to listen to weathernen repeat over and over the same thing instead of scrolling it across the bottom of the screen and just updating us periodically so that basic cable subscribers can at least watch the prime time shows. I do appreciate the local weather guys but come on, don't shove it down our throats.

The Gazette is only reporting local news but granted they could of had a better source of information. Your left kind of thinking "whats the rest of the story?"

I had a relative who worked for Walmart for several years. They claim to have been paid a fair wage and was always treated fairly. Before you go Walmart bashing, think of all the jobs they do create. The Mortgage and Banks did a tremendous amount of damage to this country, a lot more than walmart ever could. Are you boycotting your bank? your mortgage company? Why not? The big CEO's were paid millions, This country was brought to it's knees financially because of their greed. Millions are out of jobs, lost their homes and their savings and you know what, I'll bet a lot of them are working at Wal-mart right now and are thankful they have a job. Think about it.
