Me like site. Good medicine.
Forrest, we can't change the past, but we can work to make the present and the future better. I also am a vet, and did not vote for this present administration. This "sleep out" wasn't for 3rd world countries, it was to build awareness for the growing problem here in our own country.
It is amazing that when someone tries to do something to help, all we do is criticize - remember, we are humans and make mistakes, that's how we learn! (hopefully)
I agree with progressgoeson. Lara, to really understand the homeless, you would truly have to be homeless, and no one really "understands" what another is going through, every situation is different. But you don't have to be in the same situation in order to help. I think they have made a good start and have helped educate some of us in the process.
Yep, really funny unless you work in an ER like I do and see the injuries that result from alcohol mixed with any kind of vehicle. Until people stop treating drinking and drunkeness as a joke, people will continue to be injured and killed needlessly! Keep laughing, it may be you or someone you love injured or killed next time!!
You'd be surprised at how many people do NOT pay attention. Trucks and cars slam into stopped cars all the time! Cell phones, texting, eating and driving, reaching for CDs, etc. "I didn't see them" is a common refrain!
