Well, yeah, he has his own money - but I'm sure it all has to go past Momma eventually, and then she'd find out, and then she'd divorce him and clean him out...

In addition, the demrepubs aren't even loyal to those that they coax into throwing the ball for them...if someone else comes along with a bigger, shinier ball, they'll turn up their noses at the first ball and walk away without looking back. I have a black Lab puppy - I know what you mean. That big brown (or in Lakota's case, black) nose is very persistent, isn't it?

The price of her shoes isn't the problem. They're ugly, but if she likes them - so be it. The problem, atticus, is that she chose to wear them to hand out groceries at a FOOD BANK. You know, a place where people who don't have enough money to feed their families go to get help? A place where most people don't have $560 to pay their rent, much less buy a pair of shoes? You've heard of them, I'm sure. MO is as superficial and frivolous as Ohblahblah. THAT'S the big deal.

BHO may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I seriously doubt he's the one pulling the strings in this operation. HE may be clueless, but he's managed to surround himself with some pretty shady pseudo-staff. There's a puppet master somewhere. BHO is just the front man.

I've heard the same thing. And I think it's a load of crapola, too. Any high school student with basic computer skills and a copy of Adobe PhotoShop could fix up a dandy picture of Air Force One flying over any monument, landmark, or shopping mall in the world. Want a shot of AF1 buzzing the Taj Mahal? Got it. The Kremlin? That, too. Landing on an aircraft carrier? Sure...just point and click. So, since the Obambi administration is chock full of the "best and brightest" America has to offer - why didn't they just PhotoShop the damn picture??? I've really got some doubts as to BHO's "brilliant intellect". So far, he's not striking me as being too bright.

The 747 that they took for a cruise through Manhattan is the alternate "Air Force One" - whenever Obambi goes somewhere in one jet, they take the other one, as well. Thus, they would have to have known damn good and well where that 747 was, and what it was doing, as it would have been unavailable for any last-minute travel during this time frame. And, if I was Obambi, there's no way I would even try to fly the whole "I didn't know about it until you did" argument. A good manager - hell, even a mediocre manager - knows what his people are doing, and why. Claiming total ignorance of the whole episode doesn't speak very well of his management skills. But, we already knew that, didn't we?

Well, to be absolutely precise - Specter is simply making it official. He's been a gnat's hair shy of being a Democrat for years and years. As for his making the sixtieth vote - we could never count on his vote to begin with. This whole thing is, quite simply, an attempt to keep his job. Toomey would have given him a real run for his money in the Republican primary in 2010, quite possibly beating him soundly. He can't stand the thought of giving up all the power he's amassed over the course of his career. I say good riddance. He was just taking up a seat, as far as I'm concerned.

I would have to agree with you there. Sebelius' confirmation was kind of an "unknown quantity" - but, just add a public health crisis and ...presto. Instant shoo-in. Wasn't that the argument when Geithner got rammed down the public's collective throat?

We don't have a director of the CDC right now. That's another of the positions that Obama hasn't filled yet - much too busy going on television, playing golf, schmoozing with royalty, posing for photos, etc. So, I guess the WHO is just filling the void. Actually, I feel better with the WHO calling the shots than I would with anyone from the Obama administration doing it. At least the WHO isn't looking for the next photo op.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 4/27/09: World Health Organization Is Worried That This Flu Is Mutating Into Something Stronger

There have been, according to Fox News, 149 deaths from swine flu in Mexico so far; 1,995 people have been hospitalized for pneumonia since the first case of swine flu was reported, and of those, 1,070 have been released. Unless my math is awry (and that is a distinct possibility), that comes out to a .7% fatality rate.

Yes, it is an exercise in controlling the American public; it is also, I believe, being used as a distraction, to divert our attention while the Obama administration does...well, pretty much whatever it wants. As you said, thousands of people die from the flu every year. It's why doctors urge the elderly, the very young, and those who have diseases like diabetes to get a flu shot every year. Why all the deaths in Mexico from it? Possibly because the sanitary conditions and health care availability (and quality) aren't quite up to our standards. Yes, this episode points up the very real possibility of another pandemic - possibly a man-made one - but I don't think this is it.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 4/26/09: Counting Down The First 100 Days Of President Obama?

That's the thing about the media and "polls" - you can manipulate a survey any way you want to, to get any result you want to. If you poll in a strongly liberal area, you're going to get a response that's favorable to a strongly liberal president. There are no completely objective political surveys - if there were, I know you'd see waaaay lower numbers for BHO.
