Breitbart.tv : CNN Panelists: Contraception Mandate Debate 'Not A Religious Liberty Issue'

Contraception is widely available, no one is talking about outlawing it, and everyone is free to choose their employer and health care plan. How in the world is this about women's rights or reproductive freedom? Obama is prohibiting every person and every organization in America from purchasing the health care plan that they want to purchase. He is shoving down the throats of every American his personal heath care agenda. Everyone must have the health care plan he wants. No choice allowed. What is worse is that this clearly violates the First Amendment free religious exercise clause in that it forces people of religious faith who are opposed to intentionally killing human life after conception to pay for it.

Big Peace : Burned Koran Story Highlights Uncomfortable Realities of Rules of Engagement

If, indeed, the burning was intentional, the question must be answered, why not preserve the books to study them to better understand our enemies' motives and processes? Maybe the extremist messages contain references to Islamic scriptures supporting jihad. If so, maybe the Korans were burned to hide the fact that these jihadists rely on Islamic scriptures to support their jihad. Just throwing it out.

Breitbart.tv : Reverend Graham: 'I Think People Have To Ask Barack Obama' If He's A Christian

Obama has stated that he became a "Christian" for political and sociological reasons (to help the poor and oppressed), not religious ones. When asked, he denied that he had a personal relationship with Jesus and he said that he doesn't even know if there is life after death. Also, the "church" he went to says that it is a Black Liberation Theology Church founded on the teachings of James Cone. A study of Cone reveals that his faith is much closer to the Nation of Islam than it is to Christianity. In fact, he taught that blacks should reject the peaceful teachings of Christ and Martin Luther King to "turn the other cheek" and rather accept Malcolm X's motto "by any means necessary." Maybe that why the "church" named the vile black supremacist Louis Farrakhan their man of the year. I think that this and many other truths certainly allow for a doubt as to Obama's Christian faith.

Here's the consistency: Abortion kills an innocent human being: Capital punishment kills a human being who has forfeited his right to life because of his crime. God specifically said: "Thou shall not murder." If a person is a human being when aborted, abortion is a violation of that commandment.

By your logic, since the Holocaust was sanctioned by the state, Hitler didn't murder six million Jews. As a society, we commonly describe the intentional killing of an innocent human being as murder whether the controlling government criminalizes it or not.

One can sign a contract in California at age 18 or when they achieve parental emancipation upon application and hearing of same. So, if I understand you correctly, the state can not protect the life of an innocent child until age eighteen or emancipation. Are children just property of the parents in your world?

As for your question: I am a Liberal in the sense that basic rights, such as the right not to be killed without just cause, inherently belong to the individual, not the state. When the state fails to extend the same police protection to an unborn child it extends to all other persons living within its boundaries, it violates the right of that unborn baby to his life.

From: notifications@intensedebatemail.com
To: jamesmellein@hotmail.com
Subject: PaulisAlive replied to your comment on False Narrative Abounds Over Virginia's Sonogram Law

PaulisAlive, when would you extend equal rights to a baby and why? Do you agree that a baby born at seven months is entitled to full equal rights? If the answer is yes, is a baby still in the womb at seven months entitled to those same equal rights? If your answer is no, then you must explain why the right of an innocent baby not to be killed is subject to its geographical location. Try to do it without negating the humanity of the baby by making the baby the property of the mother or by lessening the equal rights of the baby by subjugating the baby's right to life to the mother's non-fatal health issues.

If you think it is right to kill to prevent crime, why not just give the death penalty to all serious criminals? I'm not in favor it that, but it seems like a better public policy approach than killing innocent babies.

I agree that the Church always needs to try harder, although I would look towards their failure to properly care for the starving people of the world as well as their failure to adequately address the abortion genocide.

I would be interested in seeing the authority for your statement that Christians are more likely to be in prison than Atheists. However, what does that have to do with my point that, if people have to carefully watch their words for fear of inflaming violence (not what I believe, but it is what the Left says), why does Don Lemon and the entire Left continue to engage in incendiary speech which contributes to Liberal and Islamic violence, which is far more frequent and deadly than Conservative violence?

From: notifications@intensedebatemail.com
To: jamesmellein@hotmail.com
Subject: cabreau replied to your comment on CNN's Lemon Implies Religious Conservatives Complicit In Street Gang Gay-Bashing Attack

Breitbart.tv : Pelosi: 'Sad' People Are Using Religious Freedom 'Excuse'

This is about killing after conception through the morning after pill and other abortifacients (those methods of birth control that kill after conception). The Catholic Church believes that this is the killing of an innocent human being, and their belief is grounded in science. The Federal Government is telling the Catholic Church that they must participate in the killing of this innocent minority group, the unborn, or close down their hospitals. And why is the government forcing the Catholic Church to close down their hospitals or violate their most deeply held beliefs? Why are consciencious objectors.allowed to avoid killing in war, but the Catholic Church is not given the same right? Why can't hospitals insure what they want to insure and allow people to choose the insurance plan they like. There are plenty of plans that offer these birth control methods and they are widely available. Whatever happened to choice? Whatever happened to freedom from the government prohibiting the free exercise of religion?

Big Journalism : This is Not Just a "Culture War," It's An Attack on The First Amendment

This war goes back to the founding of the Republican Party (founded on the statement that "God created all men equal") and is the battle between American Liberal Democracy (modern conservative individual rights bounded in a Written Constitution) against Leftist Tyranny (modern liberal communitarian rights embodied in a Living Constitution). The Democrats first assaulted the First Amendment under Obama when the Obama administration petitioned the United Nations in September of 2009 to request that all nations bar speech which offended religious groups, especially Islam which was uniquely and expressly singled out for mention. The Fair Doctrine Act (giving the government power to shut down conservative voices), a rising number of arrests of pastors preaching against homosexual acts or Islamic jihad, a Federal program launched in September of 2011 lead by Eboo Patel and tasked with, among other things, obtaining a ban on colleges of evangelization of student groups in the Orwellian name of "religious diversity", a Ninth Circuit court case striking down the First Amendment speech rights of people who oppose homosexual marriage, I could go on and on. Justice Ginsburg's recent comment that the United States Constitution was an inferior, outdated document which lacked many of the new rights which the South Africa and Canada Constitutions have is a wonderful example of how Leftists disdain the First Amendment, which the cited Constitutions lack. Another example is Justice Breyer's recent statement that he wasn't sure that the First Amendment protected the burning of a Koran because famous Progressive Justice Oliver Holmes stated, in a case long ago discredited, that the First Amendment was subordinate to the necessities of war. America: We are at war, a war over the very survival of America as embodied in our Constitution.

I was incorrect about Wong Kim Ark not discussing the meaning of "natural born citizen". It does and appears, in dictum, to give favorable treatment to the view that any person born in the United States irrespective of his parent's citizenship is a "natural born citizen." This is a complicated issue and, in the strictest sense, the definition of "natural born citizen" for purposes of eligibility for President is still a matter of first impression for the Court, but it appears that Wong Kim Ark provides strong direction on this issue.
