Becca, I wear braids too! My mom French braids my hair occasionally and at least once or twice a week I even braid it myself for school (okay, this is a Big Deal - I couldn't put my hair in a ponytail myself till a few years ago). My braids are such a part of me.

Oh, the sewing looks awesome! I used to cross-stitch samplers when I was eight or nine, one still hangs in my grandmother's house. I actually really like it - it's a little tiny one, maybe six by four inches, and it says "Welcome" with a pineapple and some flourishes.

I'm crazy-impressed by all you're doing for Eli's party! I'm turning sixteen in a month and still haven't decided whether to have a party or not. Everyone says I should but I'm sorta leaning against it - I mean, our house doesn't really fit many people comfortably and while I bet it could be so much fun, I'd probably be hanging out with the same kids that night anyway, why impose and make it all about me? We'll see, though, it's still four or five weeks away so I have time to change my mind.

I'm trying to get through homework this morning before church at four. I've just finished my English, I think - we had to write a love poem as a certain poet and mine is short but I think I'm done. I'll read it over again, work on it a bit again later. I don't think I'm very much of a poet, I don't enjoy poetry that much in general.

Anyway, I would've done my homework yesterday, but - well, I'm trying to think of a good way to tell the story, but I'm boring today. It's spring, though - the weather finally made it to 70 degrees this week and so my two best friends and I spent the day around the neighborhood - we walked up and down the street, got cones at the ice cream parlor, sat on benches, jumped on the trampoline.

It's been a good weekend. Now, as long as I can get this work done in a pain-free fashion and make it through the church service, it should be a really good one.

Does the title come from the Postal Service song? if so, how funny, as a couple months ago I made a mix that started with that song and for which I grabbed several of the songs you'd recommended on your Vox! Sumo wrestling looks like too much fun. :)
