Perhaps my comment is not specific to the article but it does apply to the behavior of those crying foul. The people involved hacked phones. Google obtains information about people and sells it. They obtain it from phones, through email, through search engines, through facebook and more. Google does not always obtain the information through legal means. Google is under contract with federal agencies to provide various services. I don't see why that is not a scandal and this is. This is why I asked if I am missing something.
