Cantwell, and her compatriot female Dumbocrat are the antitheses of positive anything in DC. They are bought by the treehuggers, meaning the extreme ones; I DO believe in conservation, just not anywhere near the degree. Federal lease drilling is down 37%; the leases are held, but the drilling permits are not being issued. If the congress/administration could control drilling on private and state lands, that too would be down. And the price would likely be the Czar's equality to Europe for price. Additionally, the EPA is setting rules in place as "guidelines", bypassing rule making laws. The one most damaging to electricity generation has to do with coal mining. The EPA set an electrical conductivity level to 500 in streams, and later backed it down to 300. A potential mine company had the foresight to test the streams on site, and found the NATURALLY OCCURRING conductivity to be over 1500. Said conductivity is based on the metallic mineral content of the water. If this company had started mining, and then had the testing done, they would have been fined into a hole. Instead, they won't start operations. There is a war on coal, and a slightly lesser one on oil. One E-newsletter I get had the headline "Where were you when the lights went out in America?" Mines are closing, and more than 100 coal fired generation plants are going to go offline in 12 months. And we can't export. Both these women are solidly behind the energy issue. I've given up contacting them on anything.

Any store that will not accept pocket change in the amount of the purchase is one I would never visit again. Not even if it meant hiking a mile further. Currency is currency. Coins are minted by the same mints that print "money". I've taken in counted bags of pennies, rolls of same, and NEVER had an issue. But then, if you are in the city I'm glad to have moved from, this should be expected from some. Paying with cash rather than credit/debit minimizes risk. Chargebacks DO occur, and ISF with a debit, with an opt out on overdraft coverage at the financial institution creates a monetary loss. And, there is no federal requirement I have either a debit OR credit card..

It's always either about power, or money. Always. Most of the time, it is about power indeed. Power over having an outlet on the stove so you might plug a griddle in. Power over the flow rate of your shower, or how many gallons of water your toilet might use per flush. Power over your garden, chickens you might have, no matter how few (this is coming, watch for it). Constitutionally, the government's powers are limited indeed; they have NO domain beyond those limitations, and certainly NOT in the areas I described above, along with many others. Time to put this government back into the constraints of the constitution.. Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate that will.

The Montessori method rocks, but the problem is the people who oppose (and I have never understood why) "each child at their own rate". This has been demonstratively shown to work. Kind of rolls it back to the one room schoolhouse, for those not familiar. If you are truly not familiar, there WERE no grades, only levels. Montessori schools only have grades because they are required to. And don't neg LoyalMom for promoting a school that produces productive children.

Quite agree. My ballot is off. Please continue to try to sway me. I voted for it. One thing I guarantee, the stings are only going to catch what they have always caught; wine and beer. I was getting the mail from the box one day, and two dogs came up.. I was giving them equal attention with pats and pets. The neighbor looked over the fence, and remarked I was pretty brave to be doing that to a pit bull. I point out now, as I did then; it's how they are raised, not the breed. Any breed dog can be aggressive. Think German Shepard, originally bred to be.. shepards of flocks. Yet through training, they can be at least as badly behaved as a pit bull. Blame the owners. The dogs aren't bad, they were trained that way. (Bad Jessica Rabbit analogy :)
