I think that many are getting too worked up about this and perhaps letting their outrage overwhelm their logic. Relax a minute and think about it, do you really think this is going to stand once his neighbors find out about the threats to tow his vehicle, etc? Heck, if I were him I'd be laughing my head off.

This is clearly not advertising in the traditional sense. As per the norm, an easily understood wording is perverted to be something not originally intended. I find it utterly ridiculous and the people involved in threatening this man should be ashamed. I guess they have shown they either/both the mental and moral capacity to do so, but they should. Relax folks, as long as there are people, there are going to be fools. Besides, think how boring it would be without their antics.

One final caveat, as a former Marine myself, they can kiss my lily-white caboose for this crap. They would be better off telling someone else their grass isn't the right blend, than to waste their time on this.

Fervor ebbs and flows. People can't have their flames of righteous indignation blaze all the time.

Well, if it all fails then my dollars that I save or spend aren't going to be good for anything anyway.

I'll do my best to live within the law and take care of my obligations for as long as I'm able. If the worst comes, as you say it is, then I have weapons and a will to protect what's mine.

Yet again, Pyongyang gives us all another chance to exhibit our typical Pavlovian response. They make threats, we give them technology. They launch missles, we send aid. It's all in the name of keeping the peace, although they seem to be the only ones benefitting.

We've fallen for their antics how many times before?

It's just not effective for them if they don't up the ante. Break the truce? Give me a break, they're eating grass in the north.

I gotta be honest, I'll bet there wouldn't be much crime if everyone carried M-16's. I'm fairly certain your "16 year old kid" wouldn't accost my family and I if we were armed like that and on a late night stroll.

Incidently, you are proving our point exactly with your example. That young kid with his AR-15 wouldn't be so bold about his actions if people in that city were armed. The fact that he has an illegal firearm and is commiting a crime should turn on the lightbulb for you: Who is he robbing/assaulting? I'll bet it's not someone with a firearm.

As for me, I'll protect my home and my family with something more effective than a judo chop. I'll use whatever it is that gives me and mine the best chance of escaping unharmed.

If that 16 year old kid does assault you Ed, I sincerely hope for your sake that a "gun-toting cowboy" is nearby to save your bacon. Perhaps then you'd have a clue.

Venezuela is a perfect example of the decline of a society. Eventually, the poor masses choose their "champion" who does nothing but promise to give back to the people, to give them what is their due, to rule unbeknownst to them in a state of Tyranny.

This "champion" keeps his word (albeit while strengthening himself in power) and inefficiently begins to provide for the masses. These masses gratefully receive the tidbits that can be thrown their way and clamour loudly about how wonderful their champion is. Their dreams are being realized and their wishes are coming true, right?

Wrong. What they are accomplishing is a self devouring society that feeds upon itself, due to the masses justifiable inability to see beyond their next meal. This self perpetuating cycle of decline exists until eventually there is nothing left to devour and only their "champion" and his duly elected magistrates remain.

Does any of this sound familiar? Those on the dole elect those who will continue to keep them on the dole. This is because we have lost the four important virtues of :Temperence, Courage, Wisdom, and Justice.

People are passionate about a variety of things. Some love cars, some love handbags. As far as for not needing them for anything, there is no "thing" that is more valuable to me than my family and my home. As such, I am and will go as far as I possiby can to protect them.

If someone were to threaten that which I hold most dear, I would certainly do whatever it took to protect them. Let the courts judge that as they will.Does this mean that I am a criminal? Not in my eyes. To protect my family I would use my fingernails and teeth if that's what it took. My firearms just happen to be more efficient and less dangerous than me biting them.

In the long run there is no difference in my having firearms for household protection than there is in having a plan in the event of a fire or tornado. I am sure that you probably have both of the latter for your household.
