He recently eliminated the "Iraq War" program, so give him credit for that.

I, for one, am waiting on his bipartisan commission's report, which is due shortly after this Fall's election. There will likely be calls to eliminate some programs there.

Citation, please? This just sounds like a made up number.

Rep. Nunes -- At its core, the charge is that Koch Industries, a very large corporation and a for-profit business, pays no corporate income tax. Why are you, as a Congressman, not concerned that this company is not paying its fair share; which causes the rest of us taxpayers to pay more to make up the difference?

When Bush held town hall meetings, everyone was carefully prescreened so that no one said anything negative. But that's not what a town hall meeting is all about - I like Obama's approach better.

Bush appointed a lot of people this way, such as John Bolton. Is it only a problem when a Democrat does it?

I would prefer that all nominees go through an appointment process. I would also prefer that there were not filibusters on just about everything. I would also prefer that the credit card industry weren't so powerful in Washington, and in the conservative media.

You are concerned that she said in 2005 “…big corporate interests, led by the consumer finance industry, are devouring families and spitting out the bones.”???

This was three years before the big corporate interests, led by the consumer finance industry, caused a global financial meltdown. That sounds like a very insightful quote, when others were ignoring the problem.

Rather than move, I did my patriotic duty and helped get the Republicans out of power. And the country is better for it.

In 2008, the Republicans had brought the nation's economy to the brink of collapse; and Bush's claims of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq had proven false. Why would any intelligent person have given money to the Republicans in that circumstance? They didn't fall for the lies the government was pushing. The fact that most campaign contributions of intelligent people like the faculty at these institutions went against the Republicans is not surprising at all.
