An odd statement considering the overwhelming majority of land in the mountains is owned by governments both Federal and Local who practice nothing in the way of significant fire mitigation.

Clearing the 50 feet of trees on your land will do nothing when faced with a 100 foot wall of flame feeding on miles of unkempt government land.
