I saw at least 12 city squad cars parked within a few city blocks for the ND game yesterday directing traffic or working crowd control at their second jobs. If only we could mobilize the SBPD in such mass to serve and protect our city at their full time jobs perhaps the situation would improve. The police chief says they are doing whatever they can but that doesn't appear to be the case. Obviously, making a second pay check controlling the upper and middle class ND alumni in town to enjoy a football game is a much higher priority for the SBPD.
Yeah, neither choice looks any good to me. Maybe Mrs. Duerring would consider taking the job. The way she charged up to get in Dvorak's face (wish I could of seen that) she sounds like a real go getter.
Unemployed, under employed, those who've taken large pay cuts, and people who can't afford newer cars for longer trips can't afford to drive as much as before is my guess. Of course, my conclusions here are not scientific just common sense. Where do I get my grant money?
It was a great place back-in-the-day but that was back-in-the-day and progress is progress so considering the expensive renovations needed the odds may be low it will remain a racetrack. I did love hot Friday nights out there, the smell of burning rubber, the noise of the engines and the swoosh of breeze as they raced by.
In spite of all the evidence of local economic peril, the council again did what's right for them to grow the local government. I'm heading to the wall to get in line right behind Ipnative two comments above because this can't be real.
This made for gripping TV watching last night, I couldn't get to bed on time but so glad I watched. At a time when many in the media throw around the hero tag too freely, the long hours, hard work and dedication of the team of rescue workers is truly heroic.
I wonder if, after listening to the president speak, the man felt a tingle down his leg like Chris Matthews.
Oh, is this wrong? I need to get busy giving away some cats right after I'm done filling the bucket seats with Little Friskies.
52 yr old standing on a stool and...a pathetic and ugly mental picture that's for sure.
