It's a "good" article ... I'll go 7, maybe 8, on a 10-scale. But Mr Shapiro missed one of my favorite train-wrecks, Miley Cyrus. Ms. (19-year old) Cyrus may or may not be on the road to drug-dom, there are questions about pot and other things including alcohol at 19-years old, BUT she certainly is on the road to sex-pot. Her last few public performances were borderline strip-shows … again at 19! At the tender age of 49 I truly do not understand the fascination of young girls these days; fascination with sex and showing off all, or almost all, of their bodies. And it’s starting younger as time goes on. Does a 12 or 14-year old really need short-shorts with “JUICY” sprawled across the butt? Believe me, I am far from a prude and I had more than my share of “fun” in the 70’s & 80’s but the 12 to 20-something year olds in this country seem to want to do as much possible to attract attention to themselves. If you question this, Spring Break here in Florida is just a few weeks away … come see for yourself.

Tony, it sounds like you're saying, just by virtue of being a celeb’ they are doomed to a tragic end. Then what about the large number of celeb’s that don’t fall prey to the drugs, alcohol and “partying” of the Left Coast / Entertainment Industry? Honestly, I can’t think of any examples because they do live quite lives away from the spotlight and partying. These people (usually with good upbringings) seem to be able to act in movies, write songs, etc. without self-destructing or mutilating their genitalia.

I must not be as smart as O-bummer; I don't get the connection between him and MLK ... besides skin color (oh, oh, racisum!). Seriously, MLK marched for all people's rights, especially blacks but still. O-bummer has just forced socialized medical care on everyone and encouraged 48% of the country to stay on government assistance. But, being a tech'ie, I do like the PA mic pointed at the screen ... Mr. Shapiro explains how TV shows, writers and ad's have been aiming at the little heads full of mush to control the country. the 18-49 demo does not have the $$ the older people have (i.e. disposable income). Thank you Mr. Shapiro. I spent the last several weeks reading your "Primetime Propaganda: The True Hollywood Story of How the Left Took Over Your TV " ... all 400+ pages, when I could have just read this article. GRANTED, you go in to a lot more detail in the book but it amounts to many of the same points. That's OK, it was a very good book. I have suggested it to several friends. BTW, I will soon be turning 50. That will take me out of the 18-49 demo and put me in with the "older, more conservative audiences" ... oh, well ... life goes on. :)

At least Billy Crystal and Danny DeVito are worth a couple of bucks. They are all the same premise.

Both of these movies sound like mindless drivel, but then that is the vast majority of what Hollywood is putting out for the last several years. What completely baffles me is that people actually pay money to go see this tripe. A decent action or sci-fi flick is another thing, even a drama or “dramady”. That said, I will repeat what I have been saying for years: HOLLYWOOD HAS RUN OUT OF IDEAS. As examples I give you any comic book hero made into a movie; Green Hornet, Green Lantern, Dare Devil, Electra, The Phantom (Billy Zane), The Incredulous Hulk, etc. The Batman and Superman movies are kind of in their own category but still IMHO, cartoonish. And then there is the endless parade of sequels. When Rocky V came out, we laughed … now it is expected; I give you Transformers III (I’m sure there will be more). I am also amused by toys and Saturday morning cartoons made into movies, Transformers being one of them, and The Smerfs, Scooby-Do, G.I. Joe, etc. I’m a little surprised that Barbie remains only in small-time animation and has not become a MAJOR MOTION PICTURE.

Here, Here!! I have been saying for years, I treat gays, etc. like bees ... they don't bother me, I won't bother them. But when they take it (half-naked) to the streets of San Fran, NYC, LA, and even Jerusalem, that’s when I get torqued. You won’t see an NRA Pride Day with guys and gals parading down the street in hunting outfits and rifles on their shoulders. You won’t see National 4-Wheel Drive Day (the eco-nuts would go ape sh**). Why must I and the majority of families, kids, grandparents, etc. be subjected to a display of overt sexuality in the streets that would get they arrested for indecent exposure on any other day?

I haven’t been to a theater since Hitchhiker's Guide (2005). I am very unimpressed with the garbage that has been coming out of the Left-Coast and I see no reason to waste my money on it; vote with your wallet! Occasionally when something interesting does leak through the liberal gantlet I will either buy or rent the DVD (or pay-per-view on my Dish). Then I can enjoy it with my own popcorn, soda, bathroom and smoking privileges without having to endure other people’s cell phones, crying babies or yappy mouths. Yes, I’m a bit of a pain about those things (children are wonderful, until you bring one on a plane or in to a movie or restaurant). So Hollywierd can keep their indoctrination films. If I want to see teen pregnancy or openly gay relationships, I’ll go to the mall. If I want political points of view I’ll laugh at MSNBC. When I want entertainment, I’ll go to my DVD collection and watch something from the 1940s-1960s or 70s (The 7-Ups (1973) was on last night with Roy Scheider!).
